Policy

By submitting a commission request, you agree to the following terms and conditions set by MarissaAmberArt. All commissions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may be declined at my discretion.

Payment Terms

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your commission slot
  • No work will begin until the deposit has been received
  • The remaining 50% balance must be paid in full before delivery or shipping
  • Final artwork will not be sent until full payment is completed

Pricing

Art Commission Pricing

Base pricing is determined by size using listed rates or custom sizing formula

Final pricing may increase based on:

  • Complexity (multiple subjects, detailed backgrounds, etc.)
  • Medium and materials used
  • Material costs are not included in base pricing and will be added as needed
  • Larger sizes beyond listed options are available upon request

Binder Commission pricing

Pricing includes the cost of the binder, art materials, protective sealant, seller fees and the time required to design, paint, seal, and finish the piece.

Final pricing is determined by:

  • Binder size
  • Design complexity
  • Number of Pokémon or characters requested
  • Additional customization requests

Shipping costs are not included in the commission price and will be charged separately.

Artistic Style 

Most commissions are created in my whimsical, spooky-cute, nature-inspired style

I also offer black & white portraits and horror character portraits, which are more realistic and differ from my standard style

By commissioning, you acknowledge and accept my artistic interpretation of your request

Before Work Begins

You may request changes at any time before work starts

This includes concept changes, subject updates, or design adjustments

Upgrades or add-ons can be made by paying the difference

Downgrades are not eligible for refunds

After Work Has Started

Only minor adjustments may be made within reason

Larger changes may:

  • Require additional fees, or
  • Require a new commission entirely

Customer-Supplied Binders

Customer-supplied binders are not accepted at this time. All commissions are completed on binders sourced directly by MarissaAmberArt to ensure quality, consistency, and compatibility with the painting and sealing process.

Binder Care & Handling

Custom painted binders are functional collectible pieces of artwork and should be handled with care.

Each binder is sealed with a protective finish to help preserve the artwork however, no sealant can make a hand-painted surface completely resistant to scratches, scuffs, dents, or general wear over time.

To help maintain the appearance of your binder:

  • Avoid dropping or placing heavy objects on the binder.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, direct sunlight, or extreme temperatures.
  • Store and transport the binder with care.
  • Avoid rubbing, scraping, or using abrasive cleaning products on painted surfaces.

Normal use may result in minor wear over time. By purchasing a custom painted binder, you acknowledge that these pieces are handmade collectibles and should be treated with care to help preserve the artwork.

Binder Shipping

  • Custom painted binder commissions are currently available to customers within the United States only.
  • International shipping is not currently offered for binder commissions.

Refund Policy

Deposits are non-refundable.

Commission cancellations are not permitted once work has begun.

Due to the custom nature of commissions, all completed sales are final and are not eligible for returns, exchanges, or refunds.

All payments are final.

NO refunds will be issued under ANY circumstances.

Turnaround Time

Turnaround times vary based on size, medium, and queue position

An estimated timeline will be provided after approval

Delays may occur due to workload, complexity, or unforeseen circumstances

Commission Queue

Commissions are completed in the order they are received

You can view your position by clicking the “Commission Queue” button

I will contact you when your commission is next in line

Delivery

Traditional artwork will be packaged and shipped securely

Digital artwork will be delivered via file

Shipping timelines depend on location and carrier
